Freelance Mastodon Developer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freelance Mastodon Developer to join our team. Mastodon is an open-source social media platform that offers a decentralized and community-driven alternative to mainstream social media. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Mastodon and experience in developing and customizing Mastodon instances.
Responsibilities:
Mastodon Development: Design, develop, and customize Mastodon instances based on client requirements. This includes implementing new features, enhancing existing functionality, and ensuring the smooth operation of the platform.
Front-end Customization: Customize the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of Mastodon instances to align with client branding and design guidelines. Implement custom themes, layouts, and interactive elements to enhance the overall user experience.
Back-end Configuration: Configure and optimize the back-end infrastructure of Mastodon instances, including database setup, server deployment, and performance tuning. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the Mastodon platform.
API Integration: Integrate Mastodon instances with external APIs and services to extend the platform’s functionality. This may include integrating authentication systems, notification services, or other third-party APIs as per client requirements.
Bug Fixing and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve bugs, errors, and performance issues within Mastodon instances. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the stability and reliability of the platform.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with clients, designers, and other developers to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure the successful delivery of Mastodon projects. Maintain effective communication throughout the development process.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge and experience in Mastodon development, customization, and administration.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UI/UX customization.
Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL for Mastodon instance configuration.
Experience in integrating external APIs and services with Mastodon instances.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills to identify and resolve issues within Mastodon instances.
Knowledge of best practices for scalability, performance optimization, and security in Mastodon development.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with decentralized social media concepts and the Mastodon community is a plus.
